In September 2019, an international audience gathered for the Biotechnology Summer School at the FHNW Campus Muttenz.
The event offered a varied program consisting of lectures and workshops with industrial partners. The 55 participating students gained insights into the latest developments in biotechnology and were inspired as to which topics they could deepen during their studies and careers.
Interview with Participating Students
The Italian Ambassador Silvio Mignano, as well as Falko Schlottigder, Director of the School of Life Sciences, attended the opening reception. Biotech industry representatives such as Michael Altorfer (CEO of the Swiss Biotech Association) and representatives from Swiss companies (Biogen, Biognosys, Glenmark Pharma, Perseo and Roche) actively contributed to the program and exchanged ideas intensively with the students.
The summer school was organized by the University of Life Sciences together with HES-SO (Switzerland), MCI (Austria), Universita degli Studi di Palermo (Italy) and ZHAW (Switzerland). We would like to thank the sponsors Biotechnet Switzerland, University of Life Sciences FHNW and Italbiotec.
