Patrick Shahgaldian is Professor of Chemistry and Head of the Institute for Chemistry and Bioanalytics at FHNW. His work focuses on enzyme engineering, supramolecular and macrocyclic chemistry, and the design of functional biomaterials, with a strong emphasis on sustainable biocatalysis.
He is actively engaged in translating research into applications, working closely with industry and the startup ecosystem. He co-founded INOFEA AG and Perseo Pharma AG, contributing to the development of innovative technologies in biotechnology and advanced materials. His activities bridge fundamental science and innovation, aiming to bring next-generation catalytic and material solutions to real-world use.
