Description
As part of their Master of Science in Life Sciences studies, about 60 students from the FHNW, ZHAW and HES-SO meet every year for an intense week of training in Quality Management, Regulatory and Clinical Affairs at the Energypolis campus in Sion.
This summer school prepares them for their careers in the highly regulated life sciences industries, from pharmaceuticals to medical Devices to in vitro diagnostics (IVD).
The course is coordinated by Prof. Dr. Marc E. Pfeifer from the HES-SO Valais-Wallis and Dr. Elena Lucano from Veranex. Lectures are given by seasoned QM & RA managers from companies such as Lonza, Stockert and Veranex. The students study regulations, standards, technical, manufacturing and clinical documentation aspects as well as registration and submission processes for various types of products. During the preparatory course some of the students get even a chance to apply hands-on their newly acquired knowledge to simulated situations, e.g. building a LEGO house under realistic constraints such as ambiguous customer requirements, regulatory approvals, supply chain issues, and time pressure.
We wish all the students continued success with their studies and thank them for their enthusiastic participation and curiosity throughout the module!
