Fifteen years and going strong!

The international summer school on Advanced Biotechnology is organized yearly by several members of Biotechnet Switzerland in collaboration with the Master In Applied Biotechnology, BIRS, at the University of Palermo.

The school reached its 15th edition after a break in 2020 due to the Covid pandemic. The event was held at the beautiful Orto Botanico and gave about 50 students the chance to connect with leading researchers and their peers in person.

The 2021 program included sessions on:

• Medical Biotechnology - chaired by Laura Suter-Dick, Jack Rohrer and Giulio Ghersi
• Industrial and Environmental Biotechnology - chaired by Simon Crelier
• MicrobialBiotechnology - chaired by Fabian Fischer and Chistoph Griesbeck
• Protein Engineering - chaired by Mariagrazia Pizza
• Drug Delivery and Nanotecnology - chaired by Patrick Shahgaldian
