    The 3rd edition of Clinics Meets Data Science was organized by Abdullah Kahraman (FHNW), Michael Krauthammer (USZ), and Adrian Jaeggi (UZH). Quick Facts

    • The symposium showcased the ever-increasing importance of data science technologies at hospitals that help to develop new treatment options for complex diseases.

    Session Highlights

    • In his keynote, Prof. Björn Menze from the University Hospital Zurich presented the newest technologies for extracting knowledge from radiomics imaging data.
    • Prof. Raphael Gottardo from CHUV presented how immunotherapy responses can be characterised using high-dimensional single-cell analysis.
    • In another keynote, Prof. Manfred Claassen from the University Hospital Tübingen highlighted recent supervised learning techniques his group developed to identify cell population structures, transitions and spatial arrangement from single-cell sequencing data.
    • Prof. Robert Gatenby from the Moffit Cancer Center in Florida showed in his keynote the importance of including evolutionary dynamics approached to control or cure metastatic cancers.
    • Prof Franzisca Michor from the Dana-Faber Cancer Institute at Harvard presented recent results of her group on understanding the evolutionary processes that are driving cancer growth in glioblastoma brain cancers.
