The EFB Biobased Materials Division is pleased to announce the second edition of the European Workshop on Biotechnology: Biobased Materials.
The event will take place in Sion, Switzerland, on 2–5 February 2026.
During this four-day event at HES-SO Valais-Wallis in Sion, internationally and nationally recognized experts will give scientific and technical presentations on current topics in the field of biopolymers, bioplastics, and circular economy. In addition, a practical section in the laboratory will focus on the processing and handling of bio-based materials such as proteins, polysaccharides, and PHA.
Designed for a small group of up to 20 participants, the workshop combines expert-led lectures with hands-on laboratory sessions, offering a unique opportunity to explore the latest advances in biobased materials. Participants will learn directly from leading researchers and instructors in the field.
Event format
20 participants from 5 countries, 30% industry, 70% research.
Participants will present their projects or motivation for participating in the workshop in 5 minutes.
8 specialist presentations.
Over 6 hours of laboratory training per person.
Presentation of 2 Swiss showcase projects or start-ups.
