    This 3-day training course will provide the fundamentals in upstream processing with hands-on practical and theory on bioreactors used for microbial cell cultures. Outcomes:

    • Understand cell growth kinetics under optimal growth conditions in a bioreactor
    • Use in-process controls to monitor cell growth and metabolites
    • Cultivate microbial cells (bacteria) in bioreactors
    • Have an in-depth understanding of the design, function and characterization of bioreactors
    • Understand the different mode of operation of a bioreactor in batch, Fed-batch, continuous and perfusion mode
    • Understand the main steps during cell harvest and primary recovery
