The joint summer school of the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW) and the Swiss Association of Soap, Perfume and Detergent Professionals (SEPAWA®) takes place this year at the ZHAW in Wädenswil.
Experts will provide insights into processes such as spray drying, lyophilization and supercritical CO2 drying, as well as solid formulations in the fields of cosmetics, cleaning, food and pharmaceuticals.
Participants work hands-on in the laboratory, drying, making their own powder shampoos and learning about the different uses of fixed formulations. In addition, aspects of sustainability, laboratory safety and health in drying processes will be explored.

Cost: 2000 CHF. ZHAW students free.
Day 1: Introduction to drying processes, technical basics of spray drying to lyophilization
Day 2: Formulations, practical part in the laboratory followed by a joint BBQ on the Grüental campus in the Kalthaus where participants can exchange with experts.
Day 3: Company visit
Day 4: State-of-the-art applications in the field of cosmetics, food and Pharma
Day 5: AGM of SEPAWA®, guided tours of the ZHAW and lectures, followed by an aperitif with a poster presentation and dinner
