This 3-day training course will provide an introduction to upstream processing with 1.5 days of hands-on practice and 1.5 days of theory in cell culture and biomanufacturing.
Cost: 2,700 CHF
Learning objectives
The properties of different cell types and when they are used in biopharmaceutical applications
What proteins are and how they are made
How to make cell banks and define seed trains
Functions of bioreactors, when and why they are used and, in particular, the difference between re-usable and disposable (single-use) bioreactors
Bioreactors and determine the optimum type for each process
What the different feeding regimes are: batch, fed-batch, continuous and perfusion
How to control bioprocesses i.e. PAT
Different techniques used for analysis of proteins and their properties
Who should attend?
This course is aimed for operators, technicians, specialists in other areas, QA specialists, and managers in the field of bio-manufacturing who are interested to learn more about the upstream processing, to refresh their knowledge in the field, or to facilitate cross-training.
