    Event details

The course provides students from the ZHAW, students from partner schools in Switzerland as well as students from abroad the opportunity of an intercultural exchange and knowledge transfer in a unique atmosphere.

    • 16 lectures covering the state of the art in cell cultivation technique will be conducted online prior to the practical program
    • 17 different practical exercises will be executed on campus by the students to deepen the theoretical background. Participants will produce an IgG antibody (fed-batch process) in stirred and wave-mixed bioreactors. They will also expand human mesenchymal stem cells from adipose tissue in planar and stirred culture systems with microcarriers and will be familiarized with the process scale up to 50 L culture volume.

The students will meet experts from the biotech industry to debate about latest trends.

The social program includes a barbeque and a visit to Lindt`s Home of Chocolate.

Please contact Dr. Iris Poggendorf for more detailed information.
