1. History and mission
Regenerative medicine is one of the most dynamic areas of research in the biomedical research and is of central importance for the development of translational medicine. The aim of regenerative medicine is the restoration of dysfunctional cells, tissues or organs by stimulating the body's own repair or regeneration processes or by biological replacement of tissue engineered living cells, tissues or biomaterials in the laboratory.
In 2015, biotechnet and the NTN SwissBiotech founded a novel platform dedicated to regenerative medicine. The mission of this new platform is to bundle the existing expertise of regenerative medicine activities in Switzerland with a focus on the translation from the pre-clinical phase towards therapeutic biomedical applications. Networking activities facilitated through the regenerative medicine platform will lead to novel research co-operations between industry and academia. Together, we endeavor to innovate regenerative medicine development.
